Pagely — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 October 2026

This privacy policy explains how the Pagely mobile app (package name studio.robu.pagely) collects, uses and protects your personal data. By using the app you accept this policy.

Data we collect

We never read your device's location; the country and city on your profile are text you choose to enter yourself. Photos you upload are re-encoded before being sent to the server, which strips their EXIF metadata — including GPS coordinates.

How we use the data

We do not sell your data to third parties for advertising.

Third-party services

As with any internet request, these services can see your device's IP address. The book, film and author lookups above never include your account details.

The app may show a card for TV-List, another app by Robu Studio. Whether TV-List is installed on your device is checked on the device itself and is not sent anywhere.

Camera and photos

We ask for access to your photo library when you set a profile picture, a cover image, a post image, a note photo, or the cover of a book you add by hand. We ask for camera access to scan book barcodes and to photograph pages. Only images you pick or take are uploaded; the camera is never used in the background.

Note and post photos are kept in private storage and served to users allowed to see that content through short-lived links. Profile pictures, cover photos and book covers are visible to anyone who can see the profile.

Private account

You can hide your profile with Profile → Edit → Private account. On a private account your shelves, reading activity and follower list are visible only to followers you have approved. This is enforced server-side with row-level security rules, not merely hidden in the interface.

Keeping and deleting your data

How to delete your account and data →

Your data is kept for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from inside the app: Profile → Account → Delete my account. This permanently and irreversibly deletes your account and all of your data, including your profile, library, shelves, reading history, sessions, goals, notes, photos, posts, comments, likes, club memberships and follows.

Retention: Deleting your account removes your data from the live system immediately. Copies held in backups cycle out within 30 days at the latest. If you bought a subscription, payment records are held by Google Play or Apple and are subject to statutory retention periods under tax law; we have no access to them. The record of your plan and its expiry date that we keep is deleted with your account.

If you cannot access the app, email robu.studyo@gmail.com to request deletion.

Getting a copy of your data

You can request a machine-readable copy of the data we hold about you. Email robu.studyo@gmail.com from your account's address and we will respond within 30 days. This is currently handled by email rather than from inside the app.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to receive a copy in a portable format, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Turkish users additionally hold the rights set out in Article 11 of Law No. 6698 (KVKK). To exercise any of these, email us from your account's address; account deletion is also available at any time from Profile → Account → Delete my account.

Data controller: Belemir Leşkeri — Kocaeli, Türkiye — Contact: robu.studyo@gmail.com

Legal bases: We process your data to perform our contract with you (providing the app you signed up for), to meet legal obligations (moderation and abuse records), and on the basis of legitimate interests (preventing abuse, improving the service).

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and protected by row-level security (RLS) policies; each user can reach only their own data and content made visible to them.

Children's privacy

Pagely is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be published on this page.

Pagely — Terms of Use

Last updated: 13 October 2026

By using Pagely you accept the terms below. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.

Your account

User content and zero tolerance

Notes, posts, comments, photos, shelf names, club messages and profile details are your responsibility. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. The following are strictly prohibited:

Page photos in the notes feature are for your own reading notes; photographing a book chapter by chapter and sharing it is copyright infringement.

Moderation

From inside the app you can block any user and report any user, comment or post. We review reports as quickly as we can, normally within 24 hours; where a rule has been broken we remove the content and suspend or close the account if necessary. That window may be longer during a backlog or a technical outage. These decisions are ours to make and require no prior notice.

Subscription and payments

Pagely's core features are free. A Pagely Premium subscription covers detailed statistics, the monthly and yearly recap posts, unlimited shelves, the ability to create clubs, and unlimited note photos. Joining a club is always free.

Content data

Book information and cover images come from the Google Books API and Open Library. Film and series information comes from TMDB; this product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. Author information comes from Wikipedia and Wikidata and is available under the CC BY-SA licence. Pagely is not endorsed or certified by Google. The app does not provide book text; it offers tracking, note-taking and discovery tools only. Details and cover photos of books you add by hand are yours and remain your responsibility.

Disclaimer

The app is provided "as is". We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. We are not liable for damages arising from third-party content (book, film and author data from third parties, user content, external links).

Changes and contact

We may update these terms; significant changes will be published on this page. Questions: robu.studyo@gmail.com
